FRANKfurtstyleaward goes THE ARTS+

Frankfurt, October 11, 2018 – Design newcomers Elle Asfour, Mona Homm and Alexandra Fuks present their talent at the Frankfurt Book Fair. After cat walks in Berlin, Vancouver and Paris, another appearance is coming up at the cultural festival THE ARTS+ at the Frankfurt Book Fair on Sunday, October 14 at 14:15 – 14:45 h in Hall 4.1.

Which platform would be better suited for talented young designers than the festival on the future of the creative and cultural industry THE ARTS+ at Frankfurt Book Fair? This is the fourth time this important event is taking place and this year it is dedicated to the burning theme of “bundling creative forces, creating new synergies, creating networks between the arts”.

Three awarded designs from the three competition categories are already on display at the FRANKfurtstyleaward stand: #dating, design “Life In The Dead Sea” by Or Paz, Israel, Shenkar College of Engineering; design; #sporting, design “Sport Gathering Us” by Malak Hakroush-Daas, Palestina, Brigitte Kehrer Fashion School; #working, design “#Cocoon Yourself” by Agota Pfening, Hungary, Dublin Institute of Design.

On Sunday, October 14, from 14:15 to 14:45, a selection of the best-of collections by Mona Homm (winner 2017) and Alexandra Fuks (winner 2015) as well as the newcomer collection by Elle Asfour from Bad Homburg will be presented on stage in the presence of the designers. Lino Schubert, Hessen’s first Burlesque dance trainer, will open the cat walk with a sensational show act.

Only two weeks ago the captivatingly choreographed “Fashion Show of the Newcomers” at one of Geramany’s largest shopping-malls, the Main-Taunus-Zentrum, attracted a lot of attention. Matthias Borutta, Center Manager of the Main-Taunus-Zentrum, sums up enthusiastically: “The presentation of the FRANKfurtstyleaward at the Main-Taunus- Zentrum on 27 September was a special highlight and a successful kick-off event for the autumn/winter fashion show at the MTZ. The unusual design pieces impressively drew a completely different attention to fashion. The presence of three young designers who received the FRANKfurtstyleaward in particular made it possible for MTZ visitors to take a look into the world of ideas behind the design”.

Hannemie Stitz-Krämer, founder and organiser of the FRANKfurtstyleaward also drew an outstanding balance of the Fashion Day: “This day was another milestone in the history of the FRANKfurtstyleaward. It was a very professional interaction of all participants and I am sure this will be a lasting success for everyone”, said Stitz-Krämer.

THE ARTS+
THE ARTS+ – with the subheading “Future of Culture Festival” – is a festival dedicated to the future of the creative and cultural industries. THE ARTS+ sees itself as a link between cultural worlds and aims to create networks and synergies. It focuses on financial associations, the economic present and the future of the creative industries. The aim is to create a new order and, with it, a new framework – financial and political, but also in terms of how the sector conceives of and justifies itself. THE ARTS+ is organised as part of ALDUS (the network of European Book Fairs) and is co-funded by the Creative Europe Programme of the European Union.
