FRANKfurtstylaward 2019 – Heimat 4.0 is the motto

The 11thCall is addressed to around 1,000 fashion schools, their students, master classes and alumni all over the world.

Frankfurt/Kronberg, 03. December 2018 – The FRANKfurtstyleaward goes into its next round in 2019 with the guiding theme HEIMAT 4.0*. It is devoted to the homeland of the multicultural platform of the international talent contest and its main sponsors, longstanding partners and friends from the metropolitan region Frankfurt/RheinMain.

“With the 2019 FRANKfurtstyleaward we are focusing on an omnipresent topic which affects all of us: HEIMAT (home, homeland) – it’s time for a Heimat 4.0 and it is now open as a fashion(able) market place,” says Hannemie Stitz-Krämer, founder of the AWARDS for Fashion and Design by now renowned throughout the world. “It will take the best 60 young designers with their creative and cultural statements to Frankfurt to conquer with the TOP60 COLLECTION “HEIMAT 4.0” the international world of fashion”.

The 11th Call of the FRANKfurtstyleaward, which will run from 1 December 2018, will redefine the topic of “Heimat” and invites young, upcoming fashion designers to provide this term with a new set of clothes – literally speaking. On 29 June 2019, the final will take place with fashion shows and an award ceremony at the Tendence, the international consumer goods fair of Messe Frankfurt.Frankfurt is the home of the FRANKfurtstyleaward. The joint patronage of the City of Frankfurt together with Fraport AG and Messe Frankfurt has turned this contest into a highly acclaimed international talent contest for fashion and design. After a creative pause, the 2019 contest has been reinvented and taken to the next level.

New Jury Members

Next year there will be five new members of the jury. These include the haute couture designer and Berlin fashion award winner Mahi Degenring as well as Christine Fehrenbach, keynote speaker on fashion, innovation and sustainability and brand concept expert; Detlev Wildermuth, Director of the European School of Design and Elmar Schüller,innovation, design and business expert (“red dot design award”). Anastasia Liebe, a young upcoming designer from Wiesbaden has already been part of the success story of the FRANKfurtstyleaward as 2015 winner and is now in the line-up of the jury members.

New Group of Applicants

For the first time participation is subdivided into three levels: STUDENTS, MASTER CLASS and NEWCOMERS. What was reserved during the past 10 years merely to fashion students, will be extended by general request by the levels Master Students and Newcomers with an own label, ie including alumni and finalists of past FRANKfurtstyleawards (age limit: 35 years). The shows of the 20 TOP-Designs from the three categories in the final at Tendence will be staged on 29 June 2019 on the market places: “Urban”, “Adventure” and “Earth”. They will be followed by an AWARD ceremony with the finalists of the contest and guests from the worlds of fashion, design, industry, culture and society.

New: Guest Countries from Africa

Fashion from the African continent is at present more than a rising star – we are looking forward to impulses and inspiration from our guest countries and outstanding fashion designers who preserve their cultural heritage and make it sustainable and viable for the future.

International Brand Ambassador for the 2019 FRANKfurtstyleaward

The official ambassador is the international music star Cindy Gomez from Canada. Her appearance at the opening ceremony of the Winter Olympics in Calgary and the music video “Legendary” are world-famous. As a music star, actress, model and designer, she is thrilled by the vision of the FRANKfurtstyleaward and devotes her appearance at the award gala as ambassador to the young talents:

International Roadshow

With the TOP60 COLLECTION “HEIMAT 4.0” the FRANKfurtstylaward Roadshow will go on a world tour from July 2019 onwards. Planned stations are Berlin (NEONYT), Paris, (Texworld, Apparel Sourcing, Avantex, Leather World) and Fashion Weeks in the fashion metropolises. The final highlights will be the show at THE ARTS+ Culture Festival at the 2019 Frankfurt Book Fair and a FRANKfurtstyleaward City Event in Frankfurt am Main in November.

FRANKfurtstyleaward goes THE ARTS+

Kronberg/Sulzbach, October 1, 2018 – Anastasia Liebe Mona Homm and Charlotte Weber demonstrated their excellent talent to an enthusiastic audience in the Main-Taunus-Zentrum (MTZ) after successful performances in Berlin, Vancouver and Paris with a three-part “FRANKfurtstyleaward Fashion Show of the Newcomers”.

Last Thursday there was enthusiasm and great recognition for the captivatingly choreographed stage show “Fashion Show of the Newcomers”. Three of the award-winning young designers of the FRANKfurtstyleward created a glamorous flair in the popular shopping center in the heart of the Rhine-Main metropolis. The three winners of the FRANKfurtstyleaward, Mona Homm (2016), Charlotte Weber (2017) and Anastasia Liebe (2015), presented their winning designs as well as selected pieces from their current collections and provided the astonished audience with explanations of their inspirations. A special eye-catcher: Lino Schubert, Hessen’s first burlesque dance trainer, showed fascinating body control on high heels with a grandiose dance interlude.

The newcomer models of the New Faces of the EastWest Model Agency under the direction of Carlos Streil as well as the Famous Face Academy of Sevgi Schäfer, both members of the FRANKfurtstyleaward jury and long-standing partners and sponsors of the globally successful talent competition FRANKfurtstyleaward also proved their skills. The charming presenter Anke Seeling, who has been familiar with the FRANKfurtstyleaward for seven years, shone with her confident appearance and revealed all kinds of interesting facts about Frankfurt’s unique fashion talent competition to the visitors.

Matthias Borutta, Center Manager of the Main-Taunus-Zentrum, as well as Hannemie Stitz-Krämer, founder and organizer of the FRANKfurtstyleaward, drew an outstanding balance of the Fashion Days: “This day was another milestone in the history of the FRANKfurtstyleaward. It was a very professional interaction of all participants and I am sure this will be a lasting success for everyone”, said Stitz-Krämer.  Special thanks also go to HÖGL shoe fashion GmbH, which invited to a fashion champagne reception in the HÖGL Store in the MTZ to accompany the event.

FRANKfurtstyleaward goes THE ARTS+

Frankfurt, October 11, 2018 – Design newcomers Elle Asfour, Mona Homm and Alexandra Fuks present their talent at the Frankfurt Book Fair. After cat walks in Berlin, Vancouver and Paris, another appearance is coming up at the cultural festival THE ARTS+ at the Frankfurt Book Fair on Sunday, October 14 at 14:15 – 14:45 h in Hall 4.1.

Which platform would be better suited for talented young designers than the festival on the future of the creative and cultural industry THE ARTS+ at Frankfurt Book Fair? This is the fourth time this important event is taking place and this year it is dedicated to the burning theme of “bundling creative forces, creating new synergies, creating networks between the arts”.

Three awarded designs from the three competition categories are already on display at the FRANKfurtstyleaward stand: #dating, design “Life In The Dead Sea” by Or Paz, Israel, Shenkar College of Engineering; design; #sporting, design “Sport Gathering Us” by Malak Hakroush-Daas, Palestina, Brigitte Kehrer Fashion School; #working, design “#Cocoon Yourself” by Agota Pfening, Hungary, Dublin Institute of Design.

On Sunday, October 14, from 14:15 to 14:45, a selection of the best-of collections by Mona Homm (winner 2017) and Alexandra Fuks (winner 2015) as well as the newcomer collection by Elle Asfour from Bad Homburg will be presented on stage in the presence of the designers. Lino Schubert, Hessen’s first Burlesque dance trainer, will open the cat walk with a sensational show act.

Only two weeks ago the captivatingly choreographed “Fashion Show of the Newcomers” at one of Geramany’s largest shopping-malls, the Main-Taunus-Zentrum, attracted a lot of attention. Matthias Borutta, Center Manager of the Main-Taunus-Zentrum, sums up enthusiastically: “The presentation of the FRANKfurtstyleaward at the Main-Taunus- Zentrum on 27 September was a special highlight and a successful kick-off event for the autumn/winter fashion show at the MTZ. The unusual design pieces impressively drew a completely different attention to fashion. The presence of three young designers who received the FRANKfurtstyleaward in particular made it possible for MTZ visitors to take a look into the world of ideas behind the design”.

Hannemie Stitz-Krämer, founder and organiser of the FRANKfurtstyleaward also drew an outstanding balance of the Fashion Day: “This day was another milestone in the history of the FRANKfurtstyleaward. THE ARTS+
THE ARTS+ – with the subheading “Future of Culture Festival” – is a festival dedicated to the future of the creative and cultural industries. THE ARTS+ sees itself as a link between cultural worlds and aims to create networks and synergies. It focuses on financial associations, the economic present and the future of the creative industries. The aim is to create a new order and, with it, a new framework – financial and political, but also in terms of how the sector conceives of and justifies itself. THE ARTS+ is organised as part of ALDUS (the network of European Book Fairs) and is co-funded by the Creative Europe Programme of the European Union.

Winner of FRANKfurtstyleaward 2017 Invited to Vancouver Fashion Week

Frankfurt/Hanover, August 2018 — The young fashion designer Charlotte Weber, Outstanding Talent of the FRANKfurtstyleaward 2017, is about to travel to Vancouver, Canada, to attend the forthcoming Vancouver Fashion Week in September.

In November 2017, the 24-year-old was awarded Outstanding Talent by star designer Harald Glööckler as patron of the 10. FRANKfurtstyleaward honouring her creation “Buried Alive” under the theme of Modern Reality. Meanwhile, Charlotte Weber successfully completed her training as a custom tailor at Fahmoda Academy for Fashion and Design, Hanover, as well as her Bachelor’s degree in Fashion and Textile at the University of Hull.  With the trip to Vancouver Charlotte Weber takes advantage of her FRANKfurtstyleaward prize to present her first collection “The Perfect Illusion” during Vancouver Fashion Week, the second largest fashion week in North America (17.09.- 23.09.2018).

FRANKfurtstyleaward COLLECTION 2017 Apparel Sourcing, AVANTEX & Texworld, Paris

Frankfurt/Paris, February 13th, 2018: The FRANKfurtstyleaward Roadshow 2017/18 celebrates its kick-off at the Apparel Sourcing & Texworld fashion and textile fairs in Paris. On February 13th, a Defilé with selected designs of the 10th Anniversary collection of the FRANKfurtstyleaward will be staged on the catwalk.
