Introduction to “The Night of Talent” gave Soprano Sophie Schwerthöffer (17), junior ambassador of the Peter Ustinov Foundation, and pianist Elena Gaponenko. “Fashion is like music – both don’t need translation”, said Marie Korbel, Chairwoman of the Frankfurt-based Peter Ustinov Foundation, explaining why the foundation is supporting the FRANKfurtystyleaward.

The initiator of the international talent contest, Hannemie Stitz-Krämer, gave an emotional speech that included an overview of the ten years of FRANKfurtstyleaward history. She highlighted how the FRANKfurtstyleaward has become a career launchpad for many young talents.

Patron Peter Feldmann, Mayor of the City of Frankfurt, acknowledged the contribution the FRANKfurtstyleaward has been making to Frankfurt’s creative scene.  “Frankfurt is home to a couple of young fashion and accessories labels, as well as startups, which then end up conquering the international market. Our city is a truly interdisciplinary and international creative location – a real creative hub!”

The fashion show “Couture of the Opera” by Berkan Design, as well as a performance by tenor and Pavarotti “Meisterschüler” Deniz Leone, was the grand opening for this year’s catwalk shows.

For the first time this year, a Lifetime Achievement Award has been awarded to Dominique Deroche, representative of Fondation Pierre Berger Yves Saint Laurent and a long standing jury member of the FRANKfurtstyleaward, for her dedication and contribution to up-and-coming talents in the fashion industry. To her surprise, Mathurin, her 15 year old grandson, held the heartwarming honorary speech.

A laudation by Star-Designer Harald Glööckler, FRANKfurtstyleaward Patron 2017, served as the introduction to the Awards Ceremony. Addressing the audience of influencers in fashion and economy, Mr. Glööckler claimed: “Talent needs encouragement and creativity needs a lobby”.

400 international guests, including diplomats (Consul Generals of the United States of America, China, Greece, Indonesia, Turkey, and Ukraine), as well as celebrities from the show business, cultural, fashion, and music spheres, experienced a multimedia program in the Fraport-Forum at Frankfurt International Airport.  Alexander Ackley, Creative Director, Anke Seeling, and Mick Knauff were the moderators of the evening.  Frankfurt’s DJ Philipp Wolff was responsible for the musical contribution during the fashion shows, as well as at the American After-Show party.  Axel Loritz from Imageneering GmbH created the urban visual concept for the event location.
