Duncan Liu, Modedesigner und Fashionexperte, ist Ehrenjurymitglied des FRANKfurtstyleaward 2016. Als Repräsentant des Gastlandes China wird er über die Vergabe der 12 Awards im Finale des diesjährigen FRANKfurtstyleaward mitentscheiden. Im Rahmen der FRANKfurtstyleaward Gala wird der Designer seine Kollektion „Cloud in Sky“ in einer Deutschlandpremiere, am 23. September in der Alten Oper Frankfurt, präsentieren.
Liu bereichert als Experte internationaler Modetrends den FRANKfurtstyleaward und schlägt somit eine Brücke zwischen China und Deutschland. Sein Unternehmen RAISE TREND ist ein nationales Trendforschungsinstitut, das der chinesischen Textilindustrie als Wegweiser und Berater dient. In besonderem Fokus steht auch die Nachwuchsförderung. RAISE TREND arbeitet mit zahlreichen inländischen Instituten und Universitäten zusammen und gibt seine umfassende Expertise an Schüler und Studenten weiter.
Die Präsentation seiner aktuellen Kollektion „Cloud in Sky“ ist ein weiteres Highlight der glamourösen Award Gala. Über seine Kollektion sagt der Designer:
„The collection is called “Cloud in Sky”, quoted from the poem “With cloud in the blue sky, water stays in the bottle”. It indicates the dhyana thought that the truth lies in every single thing of the nature, like the sky and water. And we, living in the world, can only get to know the truth by getting rid of desires and following the Tao.“
„Every single piece from this collection is a work of art. It expresses women’s mood and longing for a better life. The clothes not just wrap female bodies, they also express the inner-soul and taste of the wearer. Independent women of current age have their own appreciation and judgment on texture and quality of clothes. What we can do is to re-set their nature of life and the true state of their mind, so that every single woman who pursuits better quality of life is able to find her original intention, and live a more elegant and free life“, says Liu.
Als Repräsentant des Gastlandes China wird er die Runway Tour der FRANKfurtstyleaward COLLECTION 2016 nach Paris und Shanghai begleiten.
