Once-in-a-Lifetime Frankfurt RheinMain

Exploring the fashion and lifestyle hot spots of the region: Fashion design newcomer Simo Marom from Israel, one of last year’s winners of the FRANKFURT STYLE AWARD, visited the Frankfurt RheinMain region as part of his prize. One Highlight of his trip was definitely his luxurious stay in the well-known Schlosshotel Kronberg. However, the program specially designed for him to explore the fashion and lifestyle hot spots of the region offered a lot of unforgettable memories.

Simo started his trip with a visit to jury member and haute couture designer Albrecht Ollendieks’s store in the Saalgasse. Ollendiek presented his new collection and explained the special characteristics and handwork of his designs. The two engaged in lively conversations about the future of haute couture and continued these at a “fashion dinner” in the Schlosshotel Kronberg.

The next day the award winner toured through the city of Frankfurt and the smallest luxury fashion mile of the world – the Goethestraße and its exclusive stores. A cultural highlight offered the exhibition “Tuchfühlung” by Kostas Murkudis in the Museum für Moderne Kunst Frankfurt that shows the different possibilities to experience fashion in Frankfurt. To honor Simo, Schlosshotel Director Franz Zimmernmann and FRANKFURT STYLE AWARD founder Hannemie Stitz-Krämer hosted a Thank-you lunch for the most important supporters of the talent contest at the Schlosshotel the following day. This was also the opportunity to announce the Call for Entry 2016.

The program for Simo continued with a guided tour through the fashion trading place Häuser der Mode Frankfurt. Centermanager Alexander Socher leads Simo through different showrooms and explains the different ways fashion is being traded and hits the shops and boutiques. A very interesting experience for Simo who had not known fashion trade places in such a form before.

On the last day of this “Once-in-a-Lifetime Trip” Simo visited Wiesbaden, the capital of the federal state of Hessia. The Casino Gesellschaft Wiesbaden impressed the award winner with its historical and gorgeous rooms.

After strolling through the capital and its stunning architecture and sights, Simo took the chance to visit a traditional shoe store. The owner of the store and shoemaker Ibrahim Demir hand sews the custom-made leather shoes himself. A cultural highlight was also given to Simo as he had a look at the exhibition of works of artist Bernd Zimmer at the Galerie Rother Winter. The modern art paintings inspired Simo and made him think about future designs.

The eventful trip through the Frankfurt RheinMain eventually ended at the Käfer’s Bistro in Wiesbaden, where Simo enjoyed Käfer’s gastronomic specialties and typical German dishes before heading back to the Frankfurt Airport. However, before Simo said his good-byes to Frankfurt RheinMain, he took the time to thank everyone: “My trip to Frankfurt was absolutely amazing! Every single moment was such a delight for me. I want to thank everyone involved! There are not enough words to express my truly gratitude”.
