Duncan Liu, Chinese fashion designer and fashion expert, is honorary jury member of the FRANKfurtstyleaward. As a representative of partner country China he will participate in awarding the 12 awards at the finale of this year’s FRANKfurtstyleaward. During the FRANKfurtstyleaward gala the designer will be presenting his collection “Cloud in Sky”, premiering in Germany on September 23rd in the Alte Oper Frankfurt.
Liu enriches the FRANKfurtstyleaward as an expert on international fashion trends and as such creates a bridge between China and Germany. His company RAISE TREND is a national trend research institute, which provides guidance and advice to the Chinese textile industry. And his company too, attaches value to fostering young talents: in order to pass on his comprehensive expertise to pupils and students, his company collaborates with several domestic institutes and universities.
Besides the presentation of the TOP60 designs, the fashion show of his newest collection “Cloud in Sky” will be a further highlight of the glamorous gala evening. Concerning his collection the designer says:
“The collection is called “Cloud in Sky”, quoted from the poem “With cloud in the blue sky, water stays in the bottle”. It indicates the dhyana thought that the truth lies in every single thing of the nature, like the sky and water. And we, livingin the world, can only get to know the truth by getting rid of desires and following the Tao.”
“Every single piece from this collection is a work of art. It expresses women’s mood and longing for a better life. The clothes not just wrap female bodies, they also express the inner-soul and taste of the wearer. Independent women of current age have their own appreciation and judgment on texture and quality of clothes. What we can do is to re-set their nature of life and the true state of their mind, so that every single woman who pursuits better quality of life is able to find her original intention, and live a more elegant and free life”, says Liu.
According to Liu, his garments do not just wrap female bodies, they also express the inner-soul and taste of the wearer.As a representative of partner country China he will accompany the Runway Tour of the FRANKfurtstyleaward collection 2016 to Paris and Shanghai.
